Hi Omobolanle,

So firstly, the average wait time for applications through the Ghana office is approximately 14 months (based on information from the CIC website).

That 14 months will begin when CIC receive your application in Ottawa (if you send your application package by recorded mail, you can usually track when it is delivered).

I hope this helps

That's not right actually. On the website it says "the tables below indicate application processing times at Canadian visa offices once Step 1 has been completed"

Step 1 is sponsor approval which happens in Mississauga. Right now step 1 takes 64 days. So average wait time for Ghana is 64 days + 14 months. About 16 months.

Also not right. The posted processing times are NOT averages. As stated at the top of the webpage, the times are how long it took to process 80% of apps, which means that 79% are processed faster than that. The actual average will be several months less than the posted time.

Hello Omobolanle,

I would recommend that you join the Accra thread as you can keep in touch with others waiting to hear back from Accra. The working time for approval from the Accra office right now is about 4-6 months after SA approval.
