Unfortunately this can take years and the fact that he is moving to Quebec will make processing longer. The Ankara office will not give you a timeframe.
My husband has been on my file from the beginning. I’ve received my PR, and his background check is complete. Do we still have to wait years? Is there any way to find out what stage his application is at?
We’ve been separated for four years, and it’s affecting our marriage.

You can request updated GCMS notes, submit an IRCC webform, and contact your local MP’s office to ask them to inquire with IRCC about his application status. Explain your four-year separation and the emotional impact on your family. Hopefully, you’ll receive some clarity and be reunited soon.

I contacted my MP, but they said there’s nothing they can do. I’ve requested my immigration file notes and am currently waiting for a response.

Your MP may not be able to speed up the processing, but their office can contact IRCC to ask for an update on your application status. what response did their office give you about your application? Did they get any status information from IRCC?

Unfortunately there are large processing backlogs especially for family abroad. Unless part of the pilot program or a minor dependents don’t receive PR right after their family member in Canada.
