Spousal Visa Processing

I was a refugee, and my husband has been living in Iran. He was included in my application from the beginning. I have now received my permanent resident card, and my husband’s application has been transferred to the Canadian visa office in Ankara.
We haven’t received any updates, and the Ankara office is not responding to our inquiries. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for a spouse in this situation to receive their visa?

Would you mind sharing your full timeline, including when your PR application was submitted, when your PR was approved/eCoPR was received, when your husband’s application was transferred to the Ankara visa office, and whether he has completed biometrics and medicals?

It would be really helpful if you could share the dates so we can compare them with other overseas dependent timelines and get an idea of how long the remaining process might take.

if eligibility is approved, a Pre-Arrival Services letter can be one of the next updates. After that, IRCC may continue with background/security checks and, once everything is finalized, issue further instructions such as PPR.

He will need biometrics except if the biometrics he did 5 years ago was for PR. If it was for trv, he would need another one.

It can take multiple years before an adult dependent gets PPR. Given he comes from Iran he may be subject to a more in depth security screening and that could add additional time. If he has done his military service that may also be problematic and may make him inadmissible. I would speak to an immigration lawyer who is representing cases where applicants have had to do military service for more advice about what is happening to these cases.
