Hi, to my knowledge, she can start the process, however, Canada wont dtake a decision until your time is due... a friend of mine, was engaged and her now husband was deported and had a 2 year restriction to enter Canada, they got mariage and she started doing the paper during those two years, when the ban was left, he got his papers within 6 motnhs... as per drunk driving, allthough is not right and is hardly bad seen here, if you continue to drik then stop now... the sooner the better not for Canada, but for you and your family...

The drunk driving conviction makes him inadmissible to Canada.

Did you find newer versions? I am currently filling out all the forms and realizing they are saying imm 1344 a 2010 and imm 5669 2010 etc.

The versions I used (back in February) were dated 2/2102 (IMM 1344) and 7/2011 (IMM 5669). These forms on the CIC website appear to be the current ones:

Hello there,

same here, I filled all my forms in March 2012 and now I will be sending my application next week.

Just checking if everything is up to date.

My Imm0008 & Imm1344 are 02/2012..............I guess I am fine with this, also...
My form 5669 (latest from CIC website) is 07/2011.............there is not any updated version for this form other than this one....so I am guessing I am fine with this one too.

Please shed some light if I am mistaken, so that I can correct the forms as required, please !!!

In the end I had only gotten 1 wrong. I had an older version of the 1344. But it was my fault becuase if you go to this page:

it tells you so right at the bottom.

I re-did the form and I'm sending it out again (another 50 euro for delivery ). I think (hope) that because that is all they wrote in the letter explaining why it came back, that there aren't any other problems with the application. This is going to take FOREVER and we are moving to Canada in August! (we are in Italy, BTW)

Another quick question: Could you please tell me if my husband can apply for some kind of temporary work permit while we are in Canada waiting for his PR?

I need your opinion about my situation. I have passed my PPR to CEM already together with some additional documents required and one of this is personal history form. I just stated to that form my employment history. Now I just wondering do they check if you worked in other country even if i did'nt include it in personal history form? Or do they have a standard check for all the applicants if they work/travel to other country or not? Do you have any idea about this? thank a lot!

Just wondering if you can give me an advice to keep my sanity intact, lol... Seriously, I'm a bit worried with my application of PR sponsored by a spouse. Here's my timeline. CIC receive our application April, 2011. Start Processing May 2011. Hubby received letter from CIC that he is eligible to sponsor. I received open work permit & letter that I met the eligibility req. to apply for PR spoored by a spouse & ask me to submit police cert & do my med. exam.

On May 7, 2012 my Ecas updated that received the requested information.

My worries are it's been 3 weeks & I don't hear anything from CIC, I read in this forum that some people get DM after a few days they received a requested info. I forgot to mention too that I have a medical condition ( auto immune disease ), which we always stated in our application & to DMP when I had my medical. But they don't ask for further exam. Do you think that this could delay the processing of my application? Even though we are in clause of " excessive demand exempt".

Nope but sometimes things take longer than 3 weeks all the same. Just be patient

Yeah, I know I'm getting impatient... Who wouldn't be!? Its been 4 years, from worker, to visitor, to implied status. I am looking forward on the day that we can finally visit my home country.

Your application is stuck in background checks. As Leon said, be patient. And no, your illness will not cause any delays.

I'm not sure if they still doing the background checks on me maybe they still does, bec. sometime in April 2012 when I phoned CIC call centre if I have to submit a proof of medical (w/c I don't have) & asked regarding my background checks too, luckily a very nice agent say that my background checks & RCMP looks fine to her.

That is why I'm a little worried now that my Illness may cause any delays w/c I confirmed from you & Leon that it won't cause any delays. Well, seems that I just have to be patient Smiley

I hope someone can enlighten me about our complicated situation

I applied for FSW last 2010, We're done our Medicals and it was forwarded to CEM last April 2012. I have two Illegitimate children out of wedlock and both were acknowledged by their biological father at the back of their Birth Certificate, 2 weeks ago an immigration officer called and asked what happened to my previous relationship with my children's biological father. I told her that they were abandoned right after I gave birth to my 2nd Child. We never receive support from their biological father. after the phone conversation with the immigration officer, she told me that I have to secure a written consent from their biological father that they he is allowing my children to immigrate to Canada. OR a Court order that I have the full Custody of my Children.

I talked to my children's biological father, told him about the situation and it would be best for the children to migrate with me for a brighter future... I guess he doesn't care...He doesn't want to sign a written consent. What a selfish person and wants to jeopardize my children's future.

My 2nd Option is a Court Order? I've searched and searched... I read from the previous post from this thread that I don't need to go to court because accdg to ART 176 of Philippine Family Code, The Parental Authority and Custody of Illegitimate Children is granted to the biological Mother.

Please help....

Option 1: Get a copy of that law and send that to immigration instead claiming that you do not need a court order to give you full custody of your children because you already have it. See if they will accept that.

Option 2: Tell the biological father that unless he signs the document, you will sue him for years of back child support.
