Hi there :)

Me and my wife are preparing to send the inland application, 2 questions if u don't mind:
1. In CIC website they say work permit will be sent for "eligible" applicants within 4 months of the time of the application, whats the meaning of "eligible" in this sentence? and whats the common time that takes for the work permit to be arrive?
2. A friend told me that CIC doesn't like P.O box as mailing address, is that true?

Thnx a lot!

To be eligible for the OWP, under the pilot program, you must:

Have submitted a complete Inland spousal sponsorship application, meaning that the application has not been retruned because of an outdated form, or forms, or missing signature(s).

Have legal status in Canada (includes Implied Status).

It still takes ~ 3-1/2-4 months from the day that your application and OWP are received by CIC to receive your OWP.

Sorry, but I can't answer the P.O. Box question.

Oh...and you are aware that the Inland application processing time is currently ~ 26 months, right? Are you sure you'd rather not submit an Outland application, which you can do even if you are `in' Canada, and may have a substantially faster processing time? The caveat is that the OWP is not available for an Outland applicant, but for some that's ok because they become PRs sooooo much faster.

Good luck!

Thank you for your reply Ponga!
We have a complete application but we r not gonna attach the option c printout cuz we don't have it, my wife filled taxes for the first time and it'll take 3 months to get it, we wrote a letter explaining that though, you think that won't let me have a work permit?

And yes many people told me to do the outland but i've been here for 9 months now and i'm getting sick from not being able to work, even if the inland is 5 years i'd still go for it if it means i get a work permit in 4 months.

Thank you for the help.

Anyone can answer the second question please?
