We submitted our application 5 months earlier than the date of 5 years after conviction (based on our lawyer's recommendation). Could this be the reason our case has become stuck or NRT?

I don't know much about criminal rehabilitation. My gut is that yes, it could be, but since you submitted based on your lawyer's recommendation - ask your lawyer.

Outland PR and CR submitted August 02/24

Yesterday my husband’s Background in GCKey changed from Not applicable to We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Then today he received the Pre-arrival letter in GCKey and in the Tracker Eligibility and Background changed to Completed.

We were so excited.

Then a couple hours later he received a letter in his email that deflated our hopes of things almost being done.

“This letter is to confirm that we have received your application for Rehabilitation including the required documents and fees. As such, your file was created in our case management system on 05/07/2025.
Your application is in queue for review. Should any additional information be required, our office will contact you.”

I applied for spousal sponsorship with criminal rehabilitation on Jan 4, 2024.

AOR received in Feb 2024.

Medical and biometrics completed in April 2024.

In Nov 2024, my file was transferred to New Delhi.

In Feb 2025, eligibility was completed and I received AOR for criminal rehab.

In Nov 2025, I was asked to submit updated Schedule A and PCC. I submitted them on Dec 4.

I received a re-medical request on Dec 15, and it was updated as passed on Dec 30, 2025.

Now, the PR tracker shows everything completed, but there is still no COPR.


Today, my MP confirmed that criminality is in progress and security has not started.

Is your PR tracker alsoshowing everything completed?


Have you received any update on your criminal rehabilitation?

My husband’s tracker shows everything complete and his GCMS notes show everything complete except criminality.
I am guessing you will get an approval in the near future because they requested the medical to be done again.
From what I have seen of others who have second medical requested it is usually followed by an approval.
Let me know as soon as you get the approval so we can keep this post up to date for others in our situation.
It will also give me hope, lol.

I applied for GCMS notes for CR in September 2025. At that time, the notes showed that criminality and security had not started.

I contacted my MP on January 7, 2026, to get an update on CR. He advised that criminality is now in progress, while security has still not started.

I've applied for GCMS notes yesterday for both spousal sponsorship and criminal rehabilitation.
