Hello everyone I have a question about a friend a mine in Quebec who is getting ready to sponsor their partner.

Im confused Since Quebec suspended spousal applications until June 2026 does this mean she cannot apply at this time and wait until after June to send in her spousal application or should she still send in her application and wait in "line"?

What are they doing with new applications being sent in Quebec? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If they haven't applied before it was closed and living in Quebec then yes.
Is this true? I am about to submit (outland) and have been told the opposite: that they will actually do the first federal part now, just up to where they tell you the application is complete, you're eligible to sponsor, and the next step is to apply to Quebec for the undertaking etc. So they won't actually start the evaluation of the principal applicant's file but they can at least get you ready to apply in Quebec in June.

The federal part is just eligibility but you can start that process and apply when it reopens. Also check processing times because about 20k in the PR queue for Quebec. Doesn't include Quebec processing times.
