It takes 7-8 months if you are a 2021 applicant and its taking 18-20 months for 2020 applicants, some are still waiting. IRCC has hired very incompetent high school graduates who make lots of mistakes even in updating the applicant status. So its very variable and depends on no particular logic.
I have been waiting since beginning 2020, but it seems these idiots threw the application in the pending stack and are working on 2021 applications.
Oh wow, that’s quick! Thanks for the reply! Sorry to hear about your application, hopefully it gets approved soon.

Got an email today for the survey.

Dear Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) client,

You have been selected to take part in a voluntary Government of Canada exercise that you can complete before 18th August. Your email address was identified in our immigration application records.

These questions ask if and how COVID-19 has influenced your immigration plans. By collecting responses from thousands of people, IRCC will better understand the situations that its clients are facing and when they come to Canada, which will help inform our operational planning. This invitation has been sent to a select group of clients, please do not share it with others.

About the questions

Answering the questions takes about 20 minutes and is entirely optional. Your decision to participate/not participate will not affect your immigration status, or any decision on your immigration applications.
Participation is anonymous, it is not be possible to link your responses with any application records.
Your responses will not be shared with any third parties, and they will be combined with the responses from all those clients who chose to answer the questions.
IRCC has posted a notice about this exercise that confirms it is authentic and led by IRCC.
Thank you in advance for you participation,

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada

Please please tell them that the LVO is ignoring 2020 applicants and focusing on 2021 to make their numbers for current year look good.

Backlog should be cleared on priority before going to new applications. People have lives and need to plan their future either here or in some other country. Don’t leave them hanging
