So filed sponsorship application for my husband on December 8, 2014. Received notification in Feb. 2015. Since then online status shows "Application Received". No other update is provided.

I don't even know if the application is transferred from Mississauga office to London office.

Should I wait or ask for status. Reading older replies - asking for status doesn't really help either?

Any suggestions? =(

You can google it with the help of your postal code. Is it helpful to get MP's letter I haven't tried that yet maybe I will do it if needed (hope I don.t)

What do you mean by getting MP's letter? The MP gives you a letter? What is that letter?

I applied for my wife's immigration last year in Aug. We were asked to do re meds on 30th of June which were sent to them on the 7th of July.

Any idea how long do i have to wait? or should i make plans to go Pakistan?

Please advise.

congrats !!! please share after DM how long it took for visa office to send you PPR and than once you sent passport how long it took for you to get passport back.

First we received PPR then after 1 day it went straight to DM from "Application received". It was strange and shocking at the same time. wasn't expecting this at all.

and it took around 12 days in total to get Passport back.

No, sir. But there was a labour day weekend.
And as I mentioned PPR can be between 1 to 3 months after remed date.

You don't need to worry even my status was not get changed until i didn't get my Passport Request. Please guide does your husband gets medical Request ?

No he haven't got any medical request since we have applied, I guess his medical is already expired by now.

I see your re-medical done on 20-June. So if this is true you are still within limit.
I say you will have some action in September.

Hi All,

My fiance will be applying for my sponsorship by the end of this year, with our nikkah being done next week. He's a new PR. He went for his landing in July this year and will be moving to Canada for good by the end of the year which is when he plans on applying for my sponsorship. Thankfully he already found a job there. However we're worried about what kind of finances need to be shown from the sponsor's side to be able to confirm financial support to the person being sponsored, .i.e. me in this scenario.
