Urget question:

Salaam, I have my vacation for three weeks. I am waiting for my wife's visa. It was submitted at Islamabad on March 31st. Can I go to Afghanistan now and then book her ticket later? I want to be able to come back with her in the same flight. I haven't booked my ticket yet but at the same time, I don't want my vacation time to be wasted. Please advise. Thank you!

Walaikum Salaam.

Booking ticket for your Wife can be done later (as in, you don't have to book them before you leave for your trip). Since based on my understanding (gathered from this website), it can take up to 1 month for Islamabad to return passport with visa (you may want to add +1 week as she is in Afghanistan, not in Pakistan) -- so please plan your trip accordingly.

There is no point in contacting them as you are still within the timeline. They may not respond at all. Currently applications that were received in July/August are hearing back. So sit tight and wait patiently. Reviewing spreadsheets could help too.

Your Decision Made status implies to your sponsorship application not your permanent residence! This is done when your file transfers to LVO. You need to wait for the ecase of your Permanent residence application.

Hello everyone, hope everyone is doing great.

So today my wife's PR Application status changed to desicion made!!! Directly from Application received to desicion made. It never changed to "in process". I hope this is a good sign Inshallah!!. But when i click on the desicion made link it does say "we started processing your application on April 16, 2015. Is that normal? Anyone knows how long after this should I expect PPR?

Here is my timeline once again:

App filed: June 6th, 2014
AOR + File Trnasfer to LVO: August 13, 2014
Re-Medical Request: February 17, 2015
Re-Medical Done : March 2nd , 2015
Additional Docs Requested: March 17, 2015

lvo has requested some documents, I have sent my documents and now i am worried about my medical which is also expiring this month. Anyone has an idea what is the next step?

My file transferred 12th of August , why can't they go with first come first serve basis..!! I am thinking my wife's pregnancy might have delayed my case..!! , I emailed them too last week didn't got a reply yet, medical expiring on 25th of April..!!! hopefully they stay on their pace and finish the august transfers with first correspondance INSHA ALLAH before May.

Seems like everybody is busy with their own file. There are some people who are waiting for reply from experienced members.
You guys should understand about new members who needs help like experienced people needed when they started here.
It will be appreciated if you reply for those new members.

Medical is pre-requisite now and should be send with the application, however you can omit the chest Xray (as that is the only thing harmful in medical) and send the rest of the stuff. This is an official FAQ from CIC.

I’m pregnant. Can I wait until after I give birth to take the medical exam?

No. You will still need to undergo a medical exam even if you are pregnant. However, certain parts of the exam may be postponed until after you give birth. In that case, your application will be assessed only after all mandatory medical requirements are met. You should discuss your options with the Panel Physician performing your medical exam.
