They WILL question you if you are a PR and have left several months!

I never suggested that your application will be in IQ.
'But if you want to risk getting questioned or placed in interview queue that's your prerogative.' What else does this imply? There is a fine margin between 3-4 weeks and several months. My point was that spending a month in Pakistan did not hinder our application process and it shouldn't disrupt anyone elses process.

It's a reflection of Sidkhan's belief that if it exceeds several months, that it can go to IQ.

Nevertheless, the point is you WILL be questioned if you stay for several months as a PR.

If you are a PR, should not be more than 3 weeks.
If you are Citizen, you have more flexibility - you can stay as long as you like.
Provide explanation to LVO and proof that you will be returning.
Wrong

If you are a PR then you have to spend 180 days/year in Canada for Must in order to qualify for citizenship.
If you are OUTLAND applicant then the sponsor may go out of CA for few months like 3-4 months in a trip and these trips can be 2 in a year by calculating the days you need to spend in Canada

Re: SPOUSAL Sponsorship PAKISTAN @ London Visa Office

AOA,

-> 10 days ago, (few days after the re-medical), CIC updated the status to: In-Process and added line that medical results have been received and that 'we are processing the application as of March....2015'
-> I am in Canada and as my Wife's representative, Yesterday I received a FedEx package from CIC and they returned me all the original certificates/diplomas my Wife had submitted.

However, neither my Wife or I got any accompanying letter or email from CIC.

Is this normal? What should we expect now and with what rough timeframe?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Try contacting CPC-M in the morning 1-888-242‑2100. Good luck.

Thanks. I did call them today and they said we are still working on applications received on feb 04, 2014 and have not moved forward. But I just saw someone posted on this forum that they applied on feb 12, 2015 and received approval on april 15, 2015. what could be wrong with my case?

Re: SPOUSAL Sponsorship PAKISTAN @ London Visa Office

Hi fellow spousal sponsorship forumites, I have recently filed for my wife's sponsorship case on March 19th, and still waiting for AOR. Just wondering if any of you applied for a TRV or a visit visa for your spouses, and if you did what is the best time to apply.

Thank in advance :)

Re: SPOUSAL Sponsorship PAKISTAN @ London Visa Office

Today i got reply from Mp very frustrating. They dont even do detail inquiry just make initail call to office. Your file is in que for review, processing time for pakistani case is 36 months so we are hesitant to inquire before the expiry of that time. Send me the links to check the online status and processing times.
I think they dont bother too much....................

OK, the conclusion is that a citizen can stay outside of Canada, while application is in process, but PR is limited to some time frame. Is that right ???

Re: SPOUSAL Sponsorship PAKISTAN @ London Visa Office

Salam,

My application has been filed on 18th March 2014 and file transferred to London on 26th April 2014. I have been following the status online. The last status update was 'started processing application on 7th January 2015. After that there has been no update. Me and my husband have been doing through checks on email as well but unfortunately as of now have not received any response.

When I went through various posts on this forum I have been shocked to read that after the update of processing they would receive a response within a month. Can anyone help me in this regard?

Yes, I have had the same problems with my MP also.
They did not provide much details and the information they provided was wrong.
Some are still insisting the wait time is 36 months and don't want to get involved.
Obviously, because of what they see posted on CIC website without knowing the reason but I would show the letter from the visa officer about the processing times.
However, my preference is to do a direct enquiry with LVO, it would take longer but more reliable from the source.
