Hi everyone,

I just received AOR with file number and UCI number. Can anyone please tell me in how many days will I receive a decision on my sponsorship and when will the file be transferred to LVO? Is there a timeline? I am a PR and sponsoring my husband.

Approximately 2 months from when your application was received in Mississauga.

My application was received on Feb 2nd, 2015. They started processing it on March 27th (AOR received on March 27th) and today my status has been updated to decision made with a letter sent to me as of April 2nd, 2015. I thought people get notified through email if they are approved as a sponsor. I didn't get any email and have not received the letter yet. What could this mean?

Any help will be appreciated!

My wife had filled my application in December 2013. I just had my second Medical in February 2015.

No worries. Just log into ECAS to check your status with your UCI number.

Thanks for your reply. That is exactly what I did and it says "A decision has been made and we sent you a letter on April 2nd, 2015". It doesn't say if I am approved as a sponsor or not and that is whats worrying me. I didn't get an email except AOR.

Check you junk/spam folders too, also sometimes email comes a day or two late after the status gets updated.

The chances are pretty slim, but you have a good case as you have a permanent Govt job and income, you just have to show that you would return to your job in a month or two show them the leave letter, appointment letter, your previous travels outside Pakistan to noticeable countries are needed, show you have property or something in Pakistan, if there isn't any ask your parents or someone to add you in the the docs of their house (that really helps trust me ), and some other docs and you are good to go. But wait for your sponsorship approval first.

I got the file number and UCI today but I cant check my online status. Is this a problem?

AOA all,

I am just starting the sponsorship process for my wife and filling up forms for "Part 1: Sponsorship forms". In the Document Checklist [IMM 5491] it lists ALL the documents and forms I need for all the steps of sponsorship but for this step I only need the documents and forms listed under "Sponsor" right?
