dear fellows,

i am about to file the sponsorship of my husband. Have got some questions and confusions if some one can clear plz.

1. in sponsorship guide it has been mentioned that we have to send the original nikah nama, original birth certificate and educational diplomas and degrees (it has been mentioned that this is only for Pakistan). do we have to send the original of all these docs?

Yes, you have to send everything original of what is asked original in the Pakistan specific guide, if you want to save some time on your application, don't worry they will return every single document back.


2. Secondly the police clearance certificate is issued only for 6 months. will we have to submit a new one in case our case doesn't get finalise during this period just like medical?

Don't worry send it even if is valid for only 6 months, they very rarely asks for a re issuance of police certificate. Although make sure you provide all police certificates from all the countries you have lived as a resident.

3. should we pay all fee in start? how much will we have to pay? if i pay through credit card should i give them my card number only on prescribed form and they will deduct the required amount by themselves?

you have to pay all the fees upfront to save some time on your case, fees total is:

Sponsorship application $75.00 + Principal applicant $475.00+ Right of Permanent Residence Fee $490.00 = $1040.00

and attach receipts with your file, its easier that way. don't worry it's a encrypted and secure service.

4. our nikah nama is in urdu, but do have marriage certificate that is in english will it be enough to send urdu nikah nama along english registered marriage certificate or we should get the nikah nama translated in english too?

Attach Urdu Nikkah Nama, english translation of that Nikkah nama, original Marriage registration certificate (issued by NADRA), original Family registration certificate (optional)

We were asked to send our nikkah Nama because when we initially submitted the application, we only attached the marriage certificate from nadra. We sent a copy of our nikkah Nama with the original English translation. I was concerned that they may have an issue with a copy of the nikkah namaz instead of the original but we just received a medicial request. Does it mean that the documentation was sufficient and met their requirements?

I don't know why people don't send their original URDU Nikkah Nama upfront, as it is a hard n fast requirement now and all of them gets there case time wasted in correspondence of documents again.

In your case yes they need original Urdu Nikkah nama and I have seen one case on this forum which got rejected for not presenting the original Urdu Nikkah nama even after they asked 2 times for it. But in your case if you got the medical request and they didn't asked for it again, I think they accepted it as a proof and went one step ahead in your case. But it's just a guess. Send your remed and wait for the status change or PPR now and don't worry.

Normally, if the docs are insufficient they send a request for additional docs before the re-med request. No worries.

I actually wanna know about the processing time in my case based on your judgement please.

My application was submitted: Dec 2013
Transferred to LVO: January, 2014
Upfront Medical expired: Nov 7, 2014
Medical Request: Nov 22, 2014
Medical Done: Dec 9, 2014
Request for copy of Bio-page of Passport, a picture, eye-color, height, and form of family information: Dec 16, 2014
all of the above were sent: Dec 17, 2014.
Acknowledgment email: Dec 17, 2014.
Its been 3 months and Since then No further communication/ correspondence from CIC or LVO.

Can someone let me know how long it ll take to get a call / request for passport or interview please?

Order notes as soon as you can, most of the cases from January 2014 transfer already got there PPRs or even Visas too..!! as they have completed all the checks, next remaining is just the PPR request or interview request (if needed), also check your email addresses (sponsor and applicant's both) thoroughly in all junk and inbox folders if you missed their email, Follow the instructions below for notes,

Attach consent form and your PR Card scan copy and scan copy of your spouse.
pay the 5$ fee

Thanks alot for your guidance. one thing more the marriage certificate (it is in english) registered with NADRA is not sufficient along original nikah nama that is in urdu, or we must get nikahnama translated in english too.

No problem we are here to help, yes you need Original Urdu Nikkah nama, Original Urdu Nikkah nama's english translation and NADRA marriage certificate.

I filed on 12th February. Pretty much the same timeline as yours. Is your a husband case or wife case?

I had submitted the updated schedule A, Police CC, RPR Fee and Medical in June 2014. What will be next step as my upfront medical is going to Expire in June 2015 and background check are still undergoing or how much time usually takes the background check to finalise? pls

I sent additional documents to London Visa office back in January 2015. I did not know that the address changed for LVO at that time.
So I am wondering if LVO would still have recieved the documents or not.

Also, could anyone give me the contact info for LVO for inquiries related to the application.

Brother don't worry, Did you send it from Pakistan or Canada.? did you had tracking and signature option selected.? what does that say, was it received by someone.?
