Thank you Farhana for your answer. Yes I think CIC has my email address in their database and that email was a general email sent to people holding PR, assumed to be residing overseas.

I already booked my flight in December.

HELLO HASAN VAI,

Dear Members,

I received this email from CIC today. Is it applicable for me? Any answer will be much appreciated.

Please note that I was a previous PR but lost status couple of years back owing to non fulfilment of residany obligation. My wife sponsored me again and got my PR visa recently.

I'm not from visa exempt country.

Hello,

Our records show that you may be a permanent resident (PR) of Canada. This email is a reminder that you must present your valid Permanent Resident Card (PR Card) or permanent resident travel document (PRTD) when boarding a flight to Canada.

Canadian permanent residents who do not present a valid PR card or PRTD may be denied boarding their flight to Canada for not having the appropriate travel documents.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your PR card is still valid when you return from travel outside of Canada. The expiry date is printed on the card. If your PR card is expired or will expire within six months, you should apply now to renew your card.

If you are in Canada and do not currently have a permanent resident card or your card is expired, find out how to apply for a permanent resident card.
If you are outside of Canada and do not have a PR card or your card is expired, find out how to apply for a permanent resident travel document (PRTD).
Plan ahead and check the processing times to receive a valid PR card or PRTD before your next international trip.

Please note that if you believe you no longer meet Canada’s permanent residency requirements, your permanent resident status must be resolved before you can apply for a visitor visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). For example, if you choose to give up (renounce) your permanent resident status, you can then apply for an eTA or a visa. Learn more about your residency requirements and your options as a permanent resident of Canada.

We encourage you to share this information with your family and friends as we want to avoid Canadian permanent residents experiencing travel delays because they don’t have the appropriate travel document to board a flight to Canada.

Thank you,

Bonjour,

Merci,

Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada

Everything is depend on visa office. Now a day the interview takes time at least 17 month or less. I suggest you send the visa office your marriage proof it will easy your interview.

I know in your interview query letter the visa office mentioned that they will not accept any kind of documents but if you will not send any documents then how visa office knows your update of your relation. Not you I will suggest all applicant to send marriage proof to the visa office. Marriage proof means---

1. Communication proof ( viber, skype screen shot, watsapp, hangsout, email)
2. Money transfer receipt

Hello barkatain,

If the sponsor is a Canadian citizen he can live with you in your country until they approve your file, If he stays that long, he will have to show his intention to return to Canada once you get your PR.

If they put you in interview, the listed time frame is very long....could be well over one year from the date of intimation.

However, things are moving comparatively fast commensurate with positive family reunion policy of the Justin Govt. Again time varies from VO to VO depending on the workload.

As others suggested, keep sending them relationship proofs/evidences to your respective VO by CSE/courier/email in order to effectively address red flags, if any.

Good luck!

Hello Sjgolfer,

I am really very happy for you because your waiting time is over. You need to bring your 6 pages’ pdf papers because in the Canada airport the immigration officer will check your 6 pages’ pdf pages. No more interview and no more tension it’s time to relax and enjoy. The immigration officer will tell you that in what condition you get immigrant visa. The terms is mentioned in your pages where your photo is attached. You must have live with your wife at least two years otherwise you will lost your immigrant visa and they give you 5 years visa, in 5 years you have to live Canada 2 years otherwise you will lost your PR .

I am happy for all applicant who got their visa and share their interview experience. Hope you will come Canada soon.

Regards
Farhana

Hello barkatain,

You should email your visa office. I want to share my one interesting experience. In 2014 the visa office give me interview letter and returned my all original documents. That time I did not read my letter carefully I just saw that visa office required my date of birth certificate because in my passport date of birth and birth certificate date of birth are different way mention like in my passport 1october 19---and my certificate date of birth 1-10-19—but the visa office think one is 1october and other is January 1. 1 year 4 month later I emailed my visa office to know about my visa process. The visa office replied my email that I am pending for interview when date and schedule is fixed they will email me again.

So my advice you should email your visa office to know about your visa process.

Interview Language-possible interpreter requesr

Dear Farhana and others. My spouse and I are in the interview queue. My questions are:

1. We put in our initial application that we do not need an interpreter for the interview. Now we are considering to request one. Can we request an interpreter when IRCC notifies my wife of the interview date, or how do we request one and when?

2. My wife's English is pretty good but not perfect. She has trained herself to THINK in both English and her native tongue, depending on who she is talking with at the moment (i.e. she communicates in English alot at home and at work). She is a little uncertain whether to request an interpreter or just go with English. Additionally, we have been practising interview questions ++ in English. Please offer your advice and words of wisdom everyone. Thank you, in advance :).

Hello Boykap,

Where you from? Before my interview, I was thinking the same question. When I filled up the form that time I did not request for interpreter because I did my Master Degree in English and I thought it was not good idea to request for interpreter but from my experience I feel it is a great thing if you interview in your native language. I did my interview in my native language and feel very comfortable. Like your wife, I am good in English but don’t know is it right or wrong. Now a day I am working with Canadian people but still confused am I right or wrong. If you are from Bangladesh in this case visa office provide you interpreter. I know they provide the interpreter but when I update my new form before my interview that time I request for interpreter in the form.

When your wife update the new form for interview —“ Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008] (PDF, 536 KB) “ you find interpret option there you request for interpreter. In your update form, you can change your information if any change happened in your life.

Regards
Farhana
