Hello!!

I'm applying to sponsor my husband to Canada from India and I have a few questions I am having difficulty with.

1. Do I need to have my Canadian birth certificate and Canadian Passport notarized when I submit my application?
2. Does my husband need to have his identification documents notarized in India as well?
3. My husband lived in Canada with a work permit since July 2008 however that permit expired in July 2011. Now he is back in India so I'd like to know if he is still required to have a Canadian Police Clearance Certificate made up or is an Indian Police Clearance sufficient?

I hope to have these questions answered as soon as possible as this application needs to be completed and submitted ASAP. I'd like to thank everyone for this assistance in advance!

1. No.
2. Check the Region Specific Guide for India, it will tell you what documents must be originals, what must be notarized and what can be plain copies.
3. No. The RCMP check will be initiated by the VO in New Delhi, your husband does not need to submit a clearance for Canada, just every other country he's lived in since age 18, including his country of citizenship.
