When I started the application for the spousal sponsorship my now wife lived in France and so it had a requirement for an additional document (IMM5562) and a police certificate. She's been living with me since she arrived in December, we moved into a new place January and we put my wife's name on the rental lease, so even though she's here on a 6 month visa as a visitor I would say that she's living in Canada and Canada is the country she currently lives in. The additional document for France is only when it's the country you currently reside in and same for the police certificate. We have that ready to add to the application but if we do give that documentation then I fear it would cause confusion and give the impression that she plans on going back to France. Then I fear if I don't give it that they would ask for it and cause a delay in the application process. Perhaps I'm just overthinking it and shouldn't worry about the document for France?
For the police certificate it says in IMM533, "The country where you (or they) currently live, if you have lived there for six months or more;..." so she currently lives in Canada but not for at least six months. I assume I would only have to worry about the next line, "...and the country where you (or they) have lived most of your (their) life since the age of 18." which is Greece. Am I right to say that we only need the one police certificate from Greece?
