Hi,

My wife has done her medicals before sending the app, I called the doctor office and told them I needed a Medical exam for the Canadian embassy, she told me that I needed to brign the paper from the Canadian embassy, I told her not my case since it's family class, she said ok. At the doctors office he asked me what class it was I told him family he gave us the paper with my wifes pictures and stuff and thats it.
If it doesn't work just get an appointment and the doctor will know, sometimes the secretary doesn't know too well that part.

for the background check we are not supposed to do it upfront, some people do it when they got the AOR from Bogota since now the applicant has a UCI.I haven't done that yet since I am waiting for bogota AOR.

but I have inquired already and it looks pretty easy follow this link

I contacted both but only G4S COLOMBIA answered me, they look pretty good they answered my e-mail after like 2 hours.

I think that's it, tell me how it goes!

It would be nice if you could add youself to the speadsheet so we can keep track of what's going on in Bogota.

Also I wanted to ask, did the embassy requested your background check and medicals yet?

also what is your status on ECAS?

Take care!
So here's the thing. Our situation is a little bit different, my husband will most likely need an ARC to return to Canada, and the medicals are only good for 12 months. We are scared if we get the medicals done that we will have to do them again if they expire… We are two months into the second process and online it says approximately 12 months to process the second step, however that’s for normal cases and ours is different. I don't know whether we should do the medical now or wait till it is requested?
Ps. I don't know all the short forms you said? And I'll try to get the spread sheet.

from what we have seen Bogota has been taking around 4-5 months last year if you look in the sheet, so you should be ok to do the medicals right now, you mention your case if different? do you think it's a very difficult case?

here's the sheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1skw_RkgUkE-TSBzQ6LBg_OJF-ATTl_Y9HHJlhCtCA2Y/edit?usp=sharing

oh and ECAS is the CIC tool to check your status online http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp

Well it's different in the way that my husband was in Canada as a Refugee, living in Canada roughly 3.5 years. He was deported in December 2013 and is now inadmissible to Canada. We met in September 2013 and I asked him to marry me in November 2013 and we married soon after in November. He left Canada December 2013 and then we started the process, we've had 2 vacations together since and in September we sent our application. Now I paid for the PR upfront and other fees. Really all we need is medical exams for my husband and my step-daughter. My husband's daughter is in Colombia, she will not be coming to live with us right away however we are hoping she can down the road, she was mentioned in the application and she will too need a medical exam, she is only 5 years old. After that we need a Police Record check from Colombia, and then we likely will need the ARC to overcome the inadmissibility to Canada. After that, as long as all goes well we should be expecting to purchase airline tickets! I don't know, what do you think? Do the medicals now or wait, I don't know how long that ARC will take. And I mean I don't know how long it will take immigration to request everything either.
I promise I'll fill in the spread sheet later, it just won't open right now as I am at work and a lot of external sites are blocked

Well I am not too sure, but what I can say is even with interviews Bogota was taking less than 6 months last year, I still believe yours would take less than 12 months but we never know right.

Maybe wait till they request the medicals so you don't have to pay twice, it should't make it that much longer....

you could also search the forum to see other cases of inadmissibility or post a question maybe some others could share their opinion...

Good luck !

So I sent the background check last week, and I sent an e-mail this week to ask if the got it and they answered a day after saying this :

Nous avons bien reçu les résultats de la vérification des antécédents de la Colombie. Votre demande est en traitement, vous n’avez pas à prendre d’autre initiative pour le moment.

Nous vous remercions d’être patient.

they say : Votre demande est en traitement, not sure how long will that be.

will be keeping you posted of anything.

Patience is so difficult to have sometimes lol! I'm glad everything seems to be going smoothly for you so far.

Out of curiousity, in case I have to do something like that, how do you address the email? i mean do you just state ur UCI number and write what you need? Or is there some special way of doing it?

yes it's pretty hard to have patience these days lol
I just put my UCI AND file number and I asked if they got my background checks, thats it, I think the next day they answered me.

you should be about to get your S/A, you'll be in the bogota waiting game soon!

I got my S/A in the 16th and AOR2 on the 27th so let's hope you get it around that date!

about the middle name thing, have you called cic canada? otherwise wait till you get your AOR2 and send them an e-mail on that, I don't think it's a big deal!
good luck!

Hmmm.. I didn't wait. I was super worried about it so I already sent Bogota an email about the name thing. Hopefully when my package arrives it's sorted out right away...

So since the 27th you haven't heard any news?? Oh this is gonna be difficult!!
