Hi All,

I am not meeting PR minimum 730 days obligation. Family is settled in Canada, wife is Permanent Resident. My 5 years after first landing complete mid 2020.
I am planning to renounce my PR status now and Wife will re apply again for my PR. I am planning to make final move in April 2020.
Will that work?
How long is the process time for spouse PR?

Thanks

That will work. Spousal sponsorships usually take 12 months.

Agree with Canuck that renouncing PR status should be a last resort so depending on personal circumstances should consider seeing if can enter the country again without being reported assuming still have a valid PR card. If reported then decision made for you and can go the spouse sponsorship route, if not reported just have to stay put for 2 years but avoid the sponsorship wait,
