Hi, If someone is married and wants to immigrate to Canada without his spouse accompanying him to Canada, Could it be possible to sponsor spouse after becoming permanent resident?

Yes, but you will still need to add them into the immigration application as non-accompanying. They will have to go through the process along with you, even though they won't be accompanying you.
What kind of processes they 'll have to go through. I had only heard about medical test. Is that right?
They must be fully included in your app, even if non-accompanying. That means a medical, PCCs, documents, forms etc.
