Hello ,.. so I was living in Candad for 2 years under an IEC working holiday .. I have a Canadian boyfriend but we only lived together for 4 months .. we still share bank account.. we both left Candad separately to do some travels and we will both return together in April .. I was hoping I could get another IEC but I can not … so is there any possible way that I can come in on a spousal open work permit ?..I see other people tagging along their partners who are not even Canadian work permits but can I get one to tag along to him if he’s a Canadian citizen ?
Let me know it’s all very confusing thanks

No, not as things stand now.

To qualify for an OWP, you need to be either married or have lived together continuously (without breaks) for at least one full year to qualify as common law. Then he needs to submit an application to sponsor you for PR. 2-3 months after the PR application is submitted, you will get AOR. Once you have AOR, you can apply for the OWP.
