Yes, I have included proof of my child citizenship. And my spouse does not have other children. So am I the principal applicant or is it my husband
You are the sponsor and your husband is the principal applicant (if it helps, the way I remember this is to recall that the applicant is the one who is applying to receive PR - the applicant is the one applying to get something; meanwhile the sponsor doesn't get any new status from the app).
Ok, what exactly is GCMS notes?
The short version is that they are detailed internal records from IRCC (and/or possibly CBSA) about your application.
This forum has a good explainer in
https://www.canadavisa.com/gcms-notes.html - but note that you'd apply under
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...-information-privacy/request-privacy-act.html (the other link will direct you to a different act which will cost you $5).
Haven’t seen the application in a while. Where did you list your child in the application?
Found copies of the relevant sections online:
https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/i...sh/kits/forms/imm5406/01-04-2025/imm5406e.pdf is for addtional family information and
https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/i...sh/kits/forms/imm5532/01-02-2021/imm5532e.pdf would be the other main form.
From these, I'm guessing that OP left out the daughter on the additional family information form but included it in the main form (specifically under Part B - 2. of the Relationship Information and Sponsorship Evaluation which asks about relatives living in Canada but includes the note "You do not have to list family members listed on the Additional Family Information form").
Should I add my daughter in the additional family section even though they explicitly state to add only children under 18 who are not citizens
The thing though, is looking at the PDF version of additional family information, I don't see where it says to exclude Canadian citizen children, or even children over the age of 18. Rather, Section B - Children says "Include ALL sons and daugthers, including ALL adopted and step-children, regardless of age or place of residence."
Going by the PDF version, I think your daughter should be listed in the additional family section (I guess as the step daughter of your husband, or just daughter if he's the biological father too.) Also include her under Part B - 2. of the Relationship Information and Sponsorship Evaluation (even though the form itself suggests it's not necessary - it doesn't say that including the daughter is forbidden.)
