Hello , we had sent in our inland sponsorship app in July 2014 i got an email from them stating that they received it a week later , other than that nothing else has been sent to us , shouldn't it of been handed to a case worker by now? Should I contact them ? Or is this the norm?

People who applied in August 2013 are starting to get stage 1 approval, so you can expect to hear from them around November 2015, perhaps? If you don't hear anything by November next year, I think you can contact your MP and ask them to inquire on your behalf.

wow thanks for the reply , that's crazy..he is the sole income provider for the household and without the owp we are screwed..I did send it with the application is there anyway to get them to send a permit or to extend the one he has...in july of next year it will be 4 years he has been here on a work visa is there anything that we can do?

unfortunately, every inland applicant is in the same boat, and there's no way to get it approved before stage 1 is complete, which is taking 15 months. there is some rumor going around that CIC is changing the process slighly in January/February so that all inland applicants with AOR will automatically get their owp approved at the same time. It is unknown how reliable this information is, so really all that can be done is to sit and wait until then to see what happens.

the other option that some who have recently applied inland are considering is withdrawing the application and resubmitting outland. for the most part, outland applicants are getting approved within 12 months time (most applicants are approved in much less time). of course the time line is dependant on where the applicant is from.

If your husband is American, he could probably get PR in about 6 months. But only if he withdraws his current application and re-applies Outland. Otherwise, it's going to be a long wait...

So we can not extend his current work permit ? And if we withdraw and apply outland how do we do that our fees are already there

It depends on what kind of work permit he has. Some can be extended under implied status, some cannot be. If your husband has the kind that can be extended, then I suppose it makes sense for him to stay with the Inland application.

I think most of the fees can be refunded to you (except 75$? correct me if I'm wrong, someone) or you can use the same receipts again.

what do you mean by some can be extended some cannot , he is locked to a specific job if he can just extend that one under implied status? Should I call and see?

Something like a Working Holiday visa visa (IEC?) cannot be extended.

I believe if he is sponsored for a work permit through his employer, he has implied status as long as he stays at his employer and job.

But perhaps you can make a specific thread about it and ask on this forum - people are pretty knowledgeable. Also I've heard that the call center people often give different and conflicting answers, and so calling doesn't seem to be reliable.
