Sponsorship of illigitmate child

I am trying to sponsor my illigitmate child . She has my last name on her birth certificate . Her mother has permanent residence in canada now, but when i try to sponsor the child, cic sends it back stating she is eligible for cictizenship, and i cant sponsor her in the family class. What way do i pursue this? Send in the citizenship app? They will do dna test at some point .

Assuming you are Canadian, of course send in the proof of citizenship app. They likely won't request a DNA test because you are named on the birth certificate.
