Hi,
So I sponsored my wife from China at the end of april 2014. Nothing happened until September when they asked for her passport and for me to pay the right of permanent residence fee (which I had not paid until then), and the application status changed to "processing". So I paid that and sent the PDF to the email CPCM-EXTCOM@cic.gc.ca and she sent in her passport. Later they called my wife saying they have no record of me paying the fee, and to make sure I paid it, but that they did get her passport. So I sent the pdf in again, and I also sent it in to the beijing immigration dept of the Canadian embassy in Beijing. Of course they never answer any of these emails and I still am not sure if they actually received the payment receipt and are processing anything. Also they still have my wifes passport for more than 2 months which I feel is a really long time (she already had to cancel one trip). The status is still processing
Anyone have any experience like this? Do they normally keep the applicants passport for really long periods of time like this? Anything I can do?
