Sponsoring spouse

Can someone please shed some light towards the procedure of sponsoring spouse who is currently outside Canada once I receive my PPR.

How long will this entire process take place?

I am currently waiting in queue to receive PPR (hope all goes good) and planning to land in Canada first and then sponsor my spouse.

Please advise.

I assume your spouse has been included in your application as a non-accompanying dependent and has passed the medical and completed security/background checks.

If so, then how long the process takes to sponsor your spouse depends on your spouse's country of origin. Note that since you are a PR, you will need to remain in Canada while the sponsorship application is being processed and will have to avoid lengthily trips outside of Canada. Yes, I updated my profile with spouse details as 'Non-Accompanying'. And we are from India.
