Sponsoring spouse and dependent child

Hi all,

I am posting for a friend.

My friend has been approved a study permit, currently attending the semester from India. He is planning to come to Canada in August.
He would like to get his spouse and dependent child as well but they currently don't have any visa.
Could someone please advise if it is better to first have them come to Canada on Visit visa and then convert his spouse to WP OR apply for Work Permit from India based on his study permit?

It is totally up to your friend, he can do either way provided he can change status from within.
