you have to apply for the health card. this is the only "benefit" that you can have with the sponsorship application (which is really awesome as it costs a fortune to get treatment in Canada)
you just need to go and check if your province require a waiting period of 3 months before he health card is activated, but you need to start applying as soon as they land

Hello Friends

We go request for passport on 20th Feb. I have mailed my mom's passport to Ottawa. I am little worried since my mothers passport is expiring on 19th August 2017 and they mentioned very clearly that passport has be valid for 6 months before it can be stamped.

Lets hope to get the passport stamped with PR Visa. If not I will have to get new passport in emergency and send it again to Ottawa.

Guys...thank you all for the assistance/encouragement while waiting on my mother's application....Last Friday, we flagpoled into CARWAY border in Alberta...since it was the closest one to us...around 2.5 hrs drive.....when we arrived to US border, we told specifically to Immigration Officer that we will be flagpoling and he said come inside for paperworks...eventhough we do have US Visa...they still gave us a "NOTICE OF REFUSAL" and the officer congratulated my mother...it took us about 10 minutes to wait inside....we drove back to the Canadian Border and we had to wait for about 30 minutes before they confirmed the PR status of my mom....It was a very smooth process....

Hi folks....anyone here applying via South Africa Pretoria office?
We are sponsoring parents and got notification to send police clearance, Medicals and PR landing fee in July 2016...this was all done. Although the medicals are sent to a London UK office and not sure what happens to the documents from there but my folks were never given a piece of paper in their hands, just assured that it will all be done by the doctors and authorizing medical counsel in UK.
Nothing heard since. Today we received email saying they have yet to receive anything from us!!!! OMG where is all the documentation?
It sounds like everything has been lost? Now our folks have 30 days FINAL notice to send everything again!! Such incompetence.
I am sooooo mad. What do we do now?

If so, can you share what was the timeline from when application was transferred to the Mexico VO to request of PCC or Medicals?

So, where/how did you send PCC and RPRF receipt? You must have retained copies or originals. If you sent in email, there should be an automatic confirmation. If you sent by reg. mail, didn't you track your shipment? Send the PCC/RPRF copies to your LVO with explanation that they were sent before as well. Also, try to contact them ASAP beforehand for clarification.

Contact your PP and tell him/her that CIC is still looking for the medical.

I can give you a summary of updates:
Out of 208 applications that made to 5000 quota in 2015,
113 got Sponsorship Approvals / File Transferred to local visa office (LVO)
89 got Medical/PCC/RPRF requests
37 got Passport request for PR Visa (some of them have already landed)

asked form Delhi office. I sent them on july 2016.
