I put 4 rows (2014, 2013, 2012 & 2011) separately. I think it's easier for CIC to read.
Initially, I thought the same as otherwise Gross income looks Big :) but later changed as per Xenon... let me change again...But family size will remain same as in 2011 i was unmarried or shall i change that too?

I haven't decided if I'm going to put the barcode on top of each form (where applicable). But I would definitely put everything in order the way Checklist is in place.
i did the same during my PR application submission.

Form IMM5768 question 15 & 18

Is 'Gross income/Benefits for period' is net income on T4 or line 150 of NoA. I am asking because for unemployed years (no T4) but still have income on NoA line 150

Do the total income still meet the LICO requirement in years that you were unemployed?
yes, after including co-signer and income from other sources included in NoA line 150.

As my question might left unnoticeable on last page so asking again :)

I dont think I will have Barcode on top. The fact that the page numbers will then be off is annoying me!

Hi,

I've a question, I'm going to sponsor my mother (widowed) , I'm married so me and my wife will be co-signing the app, here' the breakdown:

2011 total income = $66,000 (no kids) [Family size = 2]
2012 total income = $41,000 (1 kid) [Family size = 3]
2013 total income = $77,000 (1 kid) [Family size = 3]

2014 total income = $70,000 (2 kids) [Family size = 4]

So, now we're total 4 in number 4 + 1 (sponsor mother) = 5, should I count 5 as family size to each year or as I counted?

Thanks

Hi All,

I am sponsoring both my parents and my in-laws with their immigration application. Can I put their applications (in separate envelopes) in the same carrier package to CIC? This will save a lot money and kinda makes sense to me.

However, from the CIC website, it says:

What courier service can I use to submit my application to sponsor a parent or grand-parent?

Applications for parent and grandparent sponsorship must be individually packaged and are sent to the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga (CPC-M). The office accepts local couriers and major courier services.

Couriers must have waybills and require a signature by CPC-M staff to prove that it was delivered, when it was delivered and that it was accepted (for their client's tracking purposes).

CPC-M does not accept envelopes or packages from non-courier services, such as taxi companies, trying to deliver to the office.

Thanks!

In case of widow, what answer should be in following question:

14.
a)Have you previously been married or in a common-law relationship? NO or YES

Each of my forms is kept together using staples......how have you all decided to attach the forms or keep them together? Paper clips? I haven't come across anything that says "Do not staple them" but now wondering whether to remove the staples or not.

I think the bar codes definitely have to be at the top of the corresponding form (as it actually says that for the first one) but not sure if they go together on top of the whole pack.

You didn't meet the LICO in 2012, so you do not qualify to sponsor your mother. There is no point in applying now, as your application will be rejected. Provided you continue to meet the LICO in 2015, you will be eligible to sponsor her in 2017.

As it says, they must be individually packaged, so you will need to send the applications separately.

Yes. Being a widow doesn't change the fact that she was married at some point.

I can't find it right now but CIC says not to staple, as it just makes it more difficult for them because they rearrange everything as soon as it's opened and have to pull all the staples out. Paper clips are OK.

It really doesn't matter.

Thanks - I'm assuming it's ok if I remove the staples (i.e don't have to reprint them)?

Also, I printed them double sided. Is that ok? What did everyone else do?

Just be careful if some of that income to meet LICO includes taxable RRSP withdrawals. I believe that CIC will deduct any RRSP withdrawals from your income, since that is not real income for the year but a carry forward of income gained in previous years.

You need to count the family size as of Jan 2, 2015, for all 3 previous years. So that would be family size of 5 for all years for you, which is: $63,833 - $62,023 - $60,905.

As was mentioned above by canuck, it seems your $41K combined income in 2012 does not meet the $62,023 LICO requirement, so your app would eventually be rejected if you submit it on Friday. So unless you live in Quebec where only 1 year of income is required, you need to wait until January 2017 (assuming rules stay the same).
