RE: Fingerprint for Police Certificate (Hong Kong)

Just in case we got PCC request, I have some questions hoping anyone who is from HK or living in Toronto can answer.

According to Hong Kong's PCC application instruction, "...have your fingerprints taken and certified by a recognized police or law enforcement agency where you live...."

Just wondering does it mean we can only go to a police office for ink fingerprint?
Does police office do fingerprint that's not used for PCC of Canada??
By any chance fingerprint taken by those fingerprint agencies are acceptable?

Thanks!

Oh my bad...I forgot to mention my mom is in Canada... :-[ We will have to take the fingerprints here and mail the application to Hong Kong for process. Did your parent's PCC arrive at CIC on time? I always find it somewhat unreliable when HK PCC is mailed directly from HK to CIC in Canada.

I linked my application and this is what I see:

Application/profile status : Open
Review of eligibility: Not Started
Review of medical results: Not needed at this time
Review of submitted documents: Blank
Scheduling an interview: Not needed at this time
A background check is needed: Not Started
Final decision: Not Started

Ecas shows this:
Sponsorship Application Status: Application Received
Permanent Residence Application Status: In Process
When I click In process link, I see this info:
1.We received (name) application for permanent residence on January x, 2015.
2.We started processing (name) application on April xx, 2016.

I am really frustrated as to why no movement in my application. Does anyone see the same thing or has any insight?? What should I do?

Follow instructions here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/link.asp

I had to try several times for it to work. I used PA last name and application#. Also enter PA passport details. In # of family members it will be the total # of people you're sponsoring (i.e. 2 for mom and dad) + you + any other dependents (your wife/kids). Ensure the info you enter matches IMM0008. Once you link, please share what is the updated status it shows there. Is your SA approved?

What could be the correspondence on June 15? AOR? Or "that"?

I tried every combination for it too, but it did not work. Maybe it is because my eCas still only shows App Received.

It was like an "AOR" from the LVO (Singapore) to my mom's email saying "This confirms that your application for permanent residence in Canada has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2016/06/06".

No. They took a copy of the receipt and mailed it in to prove that they submitted the request.

Ah...I see.

But we're gonna apply it from overseas. I wonder if they're still gonna give us a receipt.

Anyway, thanks for your replies. I really appreciate it :)
