Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking [IMM 1344] (PDF, 539.27 KB) August 2014
Just once. Either you father or mother is the 'principal applicant' and the other will remain as a 'spouse'.

Scanned signatures are not accepted. Must have original inked signature on application.

Have your parents sign the documents and mail it to you ahead of time so you will get the signed documents in time to mail it for jan 4th.

Thank you,

Is there any indication of forms to be updated late december like previous years or the forms will remain the same until january 4th? This way I can ask them to courier the signed form so they can be countersigned here before we send.

It doesnt matter where your parent land, if the sponsor lives in quebec, CSQ is required.

Hi,

For the Financial evaluation form:
8 – Minimum Necessary Income; I read the instructions for this in the guide and for the year 2014 it is $47,051, 2013 it is $46,354 and 2012 $45,040 so I wrote the most recent year @ $47,051

9 – Total income available to sponsor; I wrote my income for all three years. The instructions say “If this amount is less than the amount of the minimum necessary income above, you do not meet the sponsorship eligibility requirements. Do not send your application.” My income in above the # in line 8 for 2014 and 2013 but not for 2012 (but it is still higher than the 2012 MIN in the guide). Do I still qualify or no?

Generic Application Form/Schedule A Background Form:
My parents have visited a few other countries but never stayed more than 3 months. So for # 12 under previous countries of residence we put “No”.
On Schedule A though it asks for Personal history and Addresses for past 10 years; should we put this information here that they stayed in a few other countries for a few weeks and so on? Just worried that it will contradict the Generic application form though.

Thanks

The application forms just be fine as of now. Chances of any of the application forms being updated is very slim between now and Dec 31.

I agree. I don't think they are going to change further.

Hi all

I have recently moved to Canada. I have plans to sponsor my parents and yes I do understand the minimum net income and other eligibility requirements. My question is does parents' age matter in sponsorship? My dad is MashaAllah 68 nw... no health issues ... if i file the case after spending substantual time in the required income level... would the age affect the case . ?

Hi,

You will need the proof of income for 2012, 2013 and 2014 if you want to apply in jan 2016. The minimum cut off goes for each of the year, per below table.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5772ETOC.asp#table1

If you just moved to Canada this year, the earliest you will qualify to sponsor your parents for PR is 2020.

Hello everyone
Good luck to all of you who are working so hard on preparing the application packages for sponsorship that we will mail out in about 20 days :)

I need help filling out IMM5768 (11-2015) E please:

Section 15, Employment History- sponsor:
On this table there is column with the header Gross income/ Benefits for Period.
a)How should I fill out this column? Do I put down my annual salary? or the sum of all money I received from that employer over the term of employment.
For example, earlier this year I worked for an employer for about three months. Do I write down 50,000/year or do I look at the last pay stub I had with that employer and write the sum of money I got over that three months which say is 7,598.34 CND?
b)For gaps in employment I am just putting down the exact dates and writing down unemployed and a nice "0" under "Gross income / Benefits for Period". If you think I need anything else please let me know.
c)Under family size I have "1". I am single and live by myself. I am sponsoring my mom . Does that mean that I should put "2" under "Family size" column?
d) I know this is a bit crazy to ask, but for different employments I am using the phone number and address of head offices as I did some project work and can not easily find the phone number and address of the project office I was working for at the time. Do you see any problem with that?

Thank you.

Hello again!

A separate question on mailing the applications.

I am going to have my application mailed from Toronto.
I intend to mail it on Thursday December 31, as I understand there is little chance of the courier delivering it the same day and I will specifically ask them not to. I am looking for suggestions on best courier for sending from Toronto/ Mississauga area based on your experience last year.
I was an amateur last year and send my application with Canada Post (Xpress o Priority) not sure what it was exactly.

Thanks for your help.
