Sponsoring my spouse in Canada - Include OWP in the Application

Hello everyone!

I'm about to send the paper application to sponsor my wife to Mississauga's office and I have one question that I need help!

The document checklist does not mention the form that I need to fill up in order to submit the OWP application but just the box to tick "yes" or "no" after (I'm also including an Open Work Permit Application)

The question is: Do I need to submit any form or is not necessary? If yes, can you guys please let me know what are these forms?

Yes, you need to submit the OWP application form and supporting documents. There's even a document checklist and barcodes you'll need to include.

Awesome! I reviewed and so apparently I need to submit only the IMM 5710 (Application to Change Conditions, Extend my Stay or Remain in Canada as a Worker) or do I need to submit the rest such as the checklist, etc?

So is the application form the IMM 5710? The supporting documents that show on the checklist are already attached from the entire sponsorship application, so I don't need to print them out again, correct? For example, passport pictures, marriage certificate, etc....

You need to include them again. The OWP application is separated from the PR application and processed separately.

In the Complete Guide (IMM 5289) : "...include a completed Application to Change Conditions, Extend my Stay or Remain in Canada as a Worker form [IMM 5710] and the correct fee", they mention form IMM 5710 only, correct?

That is the form, but you need to also include all related documents.

Read the form. You need to copies of passport pages, marriage certificate, and other documents. You cannot include only the form.

I have a link that they said in the Complete Guide (IMM 5289), they only mention form [IMM 5710]. But you said people need related documents ????(copies of passport pages, marriage certificate, and other documents)

If You couldn't provide any link, please mention it is just your opinion.

1. You didn't read the guide, because the guide would tell you that you need to include a document checklist.
