Hello so I'm horribly confused and I want to make sure everything is understood correctly. I'm also new to this place so I apologize in advance if I did something wrong by posting.
I arrived in Canada in February of 2026 and was given a 1 month visitor record. I applied for an extension before it expired in early March of 2026. I'm co habitating with my partner and hope to submit common law pr forms in February of next year. My question is, since I haven't gotten news on my extension yet, and with the estimated time being 13 months, it would come around April. So if I submit both pr and then owp using my current maintained status, does the owp give me a second layer of status in case my extension is denied? Or does the potential denial end everything?
