Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
As visitor, myself,I renewed my visitor visa last May and CIC gave me one year .

What I summited with my application.
a letter from my husband work- pay, job title etc stated in the letter.
my bank account- had $1-2000.
a letter explained my status - think i wrote i want to stay in Canada with my family (daughter and husband) but have not any problem to fly back home etc.
photocopied letters from CIC - sponsor approval letter, file transferred to Manila etc.
no medical - i asked same question in the forum and no medical exam needed.

I sent my application 3 weeks prior to my visa expired and received renewal visa a month after.

hope it helps.

This is great. Thanks for clearing up my previous questions.

Of course, as I make my way through this, I still have some more questions that seem to come up the further along I go.

With regards to translations for official documents: Can anyone recommend a place in or around Vancouver where I can get these done? Maybe my Google-fu is lacking, but if someone has had any good experiences with a local translator/notary that'd be great, we'd really appreciate it.

On the form regarding how proof of contact, we did a lot of our communicating through Kakao talk...I've got the chat logs saved and everything...Do i need to get these translated as well. It's probably enough to fill a 3" binder and beyond at this point.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Floomy, that helps. So it looks like we need to apply by mail instead of online then. I have almost everything together now so I'll send it hopefully this week. Her status is up on Marc 10th

I'm working on the paperwork for an extension of my wife's stay, and it shows that proof of a medical exam is required. We don't have any paperwork for that. She did the exam in Korea and they sent it electronically. She said she only got a text to confirm it. How do I fulfill this req to get her extension?
I'm pretty sure you don't need a medical exam for a simple visitor status extension.

You don't need all of them. CIC doesn't want to read 1000 pages of your chats!

What many people do, is to take samples of chats from the begging, middle, and current part of your relationship. Maybe 1 or 2 chat samples for each month. Since these aren't "official" documents or even required ones, you can just do a rough translation yourself for the content. If CIC really wants more relationship proof, then they will ask for it directly during your processing.

Almost directly across from Canada Embassy in Seoul. I forget the name but turn right coming out if Embassy and 70 meters on left side of the street. We've had citizenship, PR, passport photos done there and all correct sizing etc.

Check here for Korean language notaries in Van..http://www.notaries.bc.ca/findNotary/search.rails?searchString=Korean&findBy=language

My wife produced printed Kakao records that are about an inch thick. More than necessary but we've done some good chunks of long distance. Half of them are screen captures showing selected dates for each month and the other half just text which she thankfully saved before switching phones a while back. Nothing was translated but most of it is English anyways.

In regards to the entry/exit form, my wife sent it to me with everything else. Rob_TO said no need to include it upfront but is there any harm in including it preemptively?
I'm 99% expecting them to want it from my wife based on her travel history.

Probably no harm. Just make sure it syncs with what you've reported in your application.

Thanks bartjones. It's all packed up and ready to go!

The latest government spreadsheet is showing 19 months for 80% of cases to be processed. Here's to hoping for a VO that's in a good mood!

Like bartjones said, there's absolutely no harm in submitting it with the app if you already have it.

Just note they still may request one near the end of the process, since sometimes they want to ensure they have the most recent copy of a document right before they approve the app. Similarly some people get asked for copies of their passports, even though they included one with the initial application.
