hello.

couple of questions .

I applied end of Nov. 2013 and My status on CIC is still " we received your file."
I wonder when my status on CIC would change.

There's probably no way of telling when your status will change. Have you ordered your GCMS notes to see what's going on with your file?

Also, I need to re-extend my visitor status few month later ( I got one year extension last year).
so i am kind of worried if CIC would give me another year.
Just go ahead and file the extension application. With your PR application in process, you should be fine.

Hi everyone. Does anyone know a photographer who specializes in Canadian immigration photographs in Seoul? I have had a bad experience before in Korea with photographers. The greatest problem is that they don't speak English. There is a photographer close to Canadian Embassy but I am not sure where exactly they are located is. Do you know where it is please let me know. Thank you.
Keep in mind that Immigration photographs are different from passport photos and require a strict guideline and regular emart photographer wont do.
Why not just get the photo specs off of CIC's website and take them to the photographer.

Probably in 2016, and I am only half joking.

Maybe, or they may have just lost them. They also asked for more photos from us at the end of the process. I could never figure out why.

Your best bet is to just follow the photo specs on CIC's website and hope for the best.

In progress means that they have some issues with you application,

that is different than "In Process", when you get "In Progress" things
may begin to look better.

It looks to me that will take a while before you get any answer.

just a tip for getting one way flight ticket. I was struggling finding a good deal on a one way flight ticket and they were all over $1000 except china airlines which I will never take. I looked into using Aeroplans and it only cost 37,500 points for a one way trip at the end of april from icn -> yyz and only $90 in taxes. It is easy accumulating aeroplans cause TD and Amex both offer one year free on credit card and 25,000 bonus points. This saved me a lot of money. Hope this helps because one way ticket price just doesn't make sense.

So, what you are saying is, "in process" is better than "in progress." Have I understood you?

thanks again for your reply bartjones. I'm actually stuck at the IMM5540E form on questions 9 and 10, it asks "are you a naturalized Canadian or permanent resident of Canada. I was born in asia 20+ yrs ago, my father was a Canadian Citzen, so i should be Canadian by descent right because right after i was born in China I came to Canada couple weeks old then got my Passport around 2-3 months old. Is there anyway to find out the date I became a permanent resident and which office was issued and the date in when i was sponsored. We went through all our paper work, cant seem to find date. Will an estimate be alright? or will CIC need exact dates

Don't you have any documentation about your Canadian Citizenship? I was born outside of Canada to a Canadian mother and I have Citizenship card. Also, I believe if you are Canadian citizen by decent, on the form you just need to give the year. I also photocopied my card and sent it in with the application.

my Canadian citizenship card only shows the date i replaced it because i lost it in 2010, it doesn't show any other date besides when i replaced it and unfortunately for that question on the form it doesn't give an option for by descent, only naturalized or PR, so i should put yes? and the for issue place im lost along with when did my father sponsor me to come here. As it was over 20+ yrs ago, I didn't have to take any oaths as I was a infant i guess

Well it sounds like you're a naturalized Canadian citizen, in which case you can just check "Yes" for question 9, and leave the rest blank since it has no application to you. If you're a citizen, I think your answer to question 10 is "No". You were not sponsored to come to Canada, you acquired your citizenship by descent.

Pretty sure Bartjones is right on this, I am Canadian Citizen by decent and I think all they really cared about was my citizenship number. On my citizenship card (original, I am literally 2 years old in the photo) all it had was the year I got citizenship, no specific date, and that was fine for them. I would photo copy your citizenship information and send it in with your package.

I'm working on the paperwork for an extension of my wife's stay, and it shows that proof of a medical exam is required. We don't have any paperwork for that. She did the exam in Korea and they sent it electronically. She said she only got a text to confirm it. How do I fulfill this req to get her extension?

Board seems pretty quiet this week. Can anyone share what they included in the extention package? The main thing I'm having trouble with is that it's asking for info that they already have from our PR application package, but I can't see any way to link them. What did you guys do for the med. check and proof of funds? Does that all need to be submitted again? If so, I'm so unprepared lol. The website prevents me from even attempting to apply without this info.
