We went back to AMA and I explained to them what Alberta health said on the phone, so it seems like everything is ok. Just waiting for the card to come in the mail this week sometime.

As for the appendix A, we scanned and emailed it back, and we also sent a hard copy to be certain. They emailed us back within a day to confirm receipt of the document. Seems like they are working on our file diligently so far. Hope it continues! Lol

It should have arrived by now. Maybe calling your MPs and finding out the address to which CEM sent the package would be a good idea. Perhaps they sent it to the wrong address or an older address.
Just an update, I contacted my MP. His assistant asked me to contact the call centre to see what was happening with our file. I called to find out that they had the right address for me as a sponsor BUT they had the wrong mailing address for me as a sponsor. Then the guy almost chastised me for calling the call centre for an outland application.

I wrote back to my MP's assistant who said she will get in touch with Manila to see what's what.

As for my partner's address, we changed her address on her file to our current address in Montreal. Her prior address is at her sister's in Seoul. What are the chances Manila sent it to my previous address???

I would laugh if this weren't so pathetic.

I contacted my MP's office as well and found out that my wife has been approved. Her documents have been printed and should be sent soon.

The COPR will be sent to your spouse's address. If they had your address wrong they probably have your spouse's address wrong as well. Has anything shown up at your wife's sister's place in Seoul?

Great news. Congrats!

You may also want to verify that CIC has your current address. It's been a month since your decision was made. Your COPR should have arrived by now.

Well my MP's assistant got back to me. It seems that the COPR was printed on September 22nd. She also told us that the mailing address was in Seoul and the residential address is in Montreal. She recommended contacting Manila to head them off at the pass. I am willing to bet the package has gone out already.

What is really frustrating is at the bottom of Appendix A, it asks where we would like the package sent to. So we put down our address in Canada.

I guess next week one way or another we should know where it is sent.

Amazing.

Is there someone in Seoul who can forward it to you if they send it there?

Ya her sister can forward it to us. But my spouse is wondering if her sister can receive the package or not. Is it the case that only my spouse can receive it?

Good question. It will be delivered DHL. My own experience with couriers in Korea was that as long as someone signs for it, they don't really care who receives it.

Hey all,

My wife just received here CORP on September 26th 2014, but its expiry date is marked for November 30th 2014 (the same date her medical assessment expires) or basically two months from now. The issue is that she cannot arrive in Canada in two month, so we are trying to request an update to her medical assessment. I have tried calling the Manila embassy, but get not direct response over the phone, so I sent my request via email. Also, I am already planning on speaking to my MP about this issue.

According a current CIC memo I read it is possible to reassess your medical assessment if it is less than 15 months old and about to expire. Also the CIC manual talks about the possibility of updating visas that are valid for less than two months.

Any advice on follow up?

Thanks

I would advise to make a plan to land before November 30. Even if it means flying to Canada, landing as PR, then returning back to Korea right away.

CIC is notoriously slow and doesn't treat things as urgent. So try all you can to get the extension, and hopefully they can extend it. But if you don't hear anything back before November 30 then you should just do the landing. I think that would be better than having her COPR expire and not knowing what CIC is doing in the background.

We received my wife's CoPR today from the courier. We will head to Lewiston bridge crossing on Saturday to complete the process since I read that it's not as busy as other border crossings. This entire process took a year to complete. Thanks to everyone here for all the advice and information.

I'd recommend the Rainbow bridge if possible. Much less busier than Lewiston in general.

I agree. We did our landing at the Rainbow about a month ago around 9:00 pm. No one there but us, and the whole thing took less than half an hour.

BTW, conratulations Sejong.

Thanks!

Where did you park? Did you park elsewhere and walk to the bridge or is there a place to park by the bridge?
