Yes, I will probably get it - no harm in having it just in case.

Just for clarification - are the korean specific documents (family relations, marriage relations and family census register) needed for both inland and outland applications? I was told they are only needed for outland, but that didn't make sense to me...

My partner and I will be applying inland.

The Korean documents are required whether you apply inland or outland.

Dear members,

I have a situation, my spousal sponsorship application submitted to CIC on Sept 7, 2012 and in my landing paper under the heading of Condition is written "NONE". My husband is abusive and threatening me deportation if I try to leave the relationship. I need a clarification if I intend for divorce will it revoke my PR Status.

Please reply, Thanks.

Unless your COPR has "Condition 51" on it, you are quite safe.

Our application is still in process, so in the mean time she went to Korea for a couple weeks.

On her return, they interviewed her, and let her through but the attached a visitor record sheet onto her passport. Has anyone else encountered this? They didn't do this the last time she came through (she was here for 6 months, went back, and returned).

How long was the visitor's record for?

it says 6 months.

Hmm. It's a little odd, but practically speaking there's no difference between them stamping your passport and giving you a 6 month visitor's record. They both allow a Korean the same visitor status in Canada for the same length of time. If your PR application isn't complete by the time the visitor's record expires you can always apply to extend it. You shouldn't have a problem getting that extension.

Thanks for the info. That's good to know. I tried calling CIC but navigating their menus in order to actually try and talk to someone seemed like a hassle.

it seems my time line passed the official processing time (17months)
I paid PRPF after, so would it take couple of month more than usual?

thanks in advance.

It shouldn't. Have you contacted your MP? They'll find out what's going on.

thank you for reply.
what is MP and how i can find out?

it's been 2 month I did remedial and paid RPRF.

thanks again.

The sponsor (don't know if that's you or your spouse) should contact the office of their MP (Member of Parliament). The MP's assistant will call Manila to see what's going on with your application. You'll probably have to sign a consent first. Good luck.

Thank you bartjones.

I contacted local MP and requested update of my application.

She (MP's assistant) told me the processing time starts after your spouse is approved as sponsor
but I thought processing time starts when they received your application.
(well, either case my processing time is over 17month anyway...)

which one is right?

I would think that the processing time starts once the file gets to Manila (i.e. after sponsorship approval). Are you over the processing time based on that date?

I found when I got my MP involved I had to push a little to get them to do anything for me. You may need to be persistent. Stick with it.
