Landed around 1:45am at Lewiston Bridge (did an hour shopping at Wegman's...great 24/7 store, across from the Walmart on Military Road). No wait to get in and we were the only ones in the building for most of the time. Around 11:30pm when we crossed into the US there was still quite a lineup to get into Canada (maybe only like 15-20 min wait).

Good to know and congratulations on completing the process.

Last month my MP's office contacted Manila who said they would be issuing my wife's visa on or before August 28th. That date has now come and gone with no decision. Next week will be 18 months for us. Getting extremely frustrated at this point.

Final update on the stuff we had shipped. Everything was delivered to our place this week. No problems, extra charges or anything like that. Even with the problem we had at customs, I would still recommend Onnury Green.

We did our flagpole in Sault St. Marie last week and had no problems. My wife now has her Ontario drivers licence, SIN number and we have applied for her OHIP. We are now in the process of applying for the child benefit packages.

Thanks again to all those who have helped out!! For those of you who are still waiting, I truly hope your wait comes to an end soon!

According to ECAS a decision has finally been made on my wife's application. My MP's office tells me that her application has been approved and COPR is on the way. :)

When it rains, it pours!

We just got a status change in ecas also. It says decision made!

We are a little nervous because they never asked for the second criminal background check.

What does it all mean?

I think it means your application has been approved and COPR should be arriving soon.

Just curious. Maybe I forgot. Why did you think you needed another criminal background check.

The criminal background check we submitted was dated July 2012. So we figured another one would be in order sooner or later.

Anyone have any idea how long it takes for the COPR to arrive in Canada?

PS I forgot to say congratulations to you BartJones, you have been in this nearly as long as we have. I totally understand your frustrations!

No. You only need to submit that up front. If they wanted another one, they would have asked.

Apparently it arrives by regular mail. My MP's office said about 2 weeks.

Thanks and congrats to you too. It was a long road for both of us.

I have to say, although I'm glad it's finally over, the whole thing has left a really bad taste in my mouth. It was a ridiculous process that just took way too long.

It's hard to believe it is 23 months to the day (almost 2 years if you factor in waiting for the package to be delivered). Needless to say this has left my partner feeling less than enthralled about Canada.

What is funny is we just got back from the states after hitting the outlets. It would have been great if we could have landed on the way back. Thank god it's only 45 minutes away.

Also funny is that my next batch of gcms notes is due on Aug. 31 (which will probably come tomorrow with the holiday). I guess we can frame these ones. :D

Ours was delivered by DHL, and arrived a little less than a week after the status changed online.

Congrats to you both!! You have both been waiting a long long time for this great news!!

So we got our last GCMS notes and the last note says: August 25, 2014: File to officer for crim and possible finalization.

We noticed that in e-cas, the status changed to "Decision Made" on Sept. 2nd.

I just got an email from my MP's assistant. She let us know that we were approved on August 25, 2014. She also said that we should expect a request from Manila to send in my partner's passport in order to get PR stamped in it.

Does this sound right?

No but they're probably confused. You'll be getting COPR not a passport request.

The MP's office was confused with ours as well. They initially told me last week that my wife's PR card was in the mail. That was also wrong. I contacted them and they corrected that information to say it was COPR and not the actual card that was on the way.
