Been there, done that, got the PR card... PM if you want details.

I'm 54 year old man with a 38 year old same-sex spouse and we got approved. That's not quite as big an age gap but still a substantial gap.

I think the thing that would look very suspicious would be if your ages were reversed because there is a strong disapproval in many cultures of men marrying significantly older women (or even older women at all).

This makes me feel better cause I never seen anyone on here with sponsoring much older husbands only older women younger men. I thought I was alone lol

My husband is 16 years older than me. Not as much of a gap as you - but a gap all the same. His application was approved in four months.

Congratulations! I remember your case from last year or so. Time went by fast.

This makes me have hope all your guys stories are inspirational too keep the fight going..

My husband is 22 years older than I. We were also successful in our application. Just make sure you have a strong application, and by having an 8 year long relationship, it sounds like there would be NO reason for them to question the integrity of your relationship with your husband.

Best of luck to you!

I was just worried because I'm younger sponsoring my older husband but it is definatley for love we both are not rolling in money and we love each other so much it's freaky how things work out I have been with younger men but it's not my cup of tea lol now that he is so faithful and dedicated too me and my kids it makes me love him even more :) I'm hoping for a fast processing but you never know.. I'm holding the faith :) ps we lived together 6 years in Canada but he got excluded for over stay :(, we fought that long for past divorces and I sponsored my ex which I was under an undertaking for 3 years so that's why we waited so long :( so here's too hoping :)

@suzanne, you are so courageous for going through this process twice. I don't know if I could and when I read the appeals thread, my heart breaks for those separated from loved ones.

I know it's a different vo but a friend of mine, which is 25 years older than her husband just received her visa 2 weeks ago with no issues nor interview.
Your relationship is true and there's no one who can tell you it's not.
So keep your hope up and everything gonna be ok.

I wasn't so bad the first time it was in Canada application so my husband was with me but now it's different Because it's out of Canada and I wish I wouldn't of sponsored my ex but it happened and I learned from it so now I got too move forward :( Ya and the appeal thread scares me to he'll and I'm never doing this again this is the final of it all and there is no way I'm ever leaving my husband so I'm so hoping I never have to appeal I'm crossing my fingers

I'm crossing everything I have that this goes smoothly I hope I don't have too go through years of waiting :(

We will be successful by God's grace.

With an 8-year relationship it should be OK. Just include more proof than the average couple would. If there is an interview, he should be prepared to state you have discussed the age difference and it doesn't matter to you.
