Sponsoring foreign wife by a Canadian Citizen while working in another country

What are the requirements of "Sponsoring foreign wife by a Canadian Citizen while working in another country". Do I have to break/cancel my foreign work permit and stay in Canada in order to sponsor her.

She has a Syrian passport (if that helps).

If you are a Canadian citizen you can sponsor while living in another country, but you will need to provide evidence to prove that you will return to Canada to reside if she is granted PR.
