Sponsoring for Child born in U.S for PR parents

Hi ,
Our first landing was in July 2015(Just completed landing formalities ) and still living outside Canada . We are planning to go back early next year and looking for info on sponsorship of our kid who was born in U.S(With US passport).
Is it possible to sponsor for kid while staying outside Canada or we need go back first then sponsor from inside Canada ?

One of you needs to return to Canada in order to sponsor the child and needs to physically remain in Canada while the application is processed. The child cannot be sponsored from outside of Canada.

How long the process would take ?
If we decide to move along with family ,the child can stay max of 6 months only by using U.S passport.How the visa extension thing work with out getting out of country?

Approximately six months.

Hello Everyone,

I am in a similar situation and have a US born kid and we currently stay in US ( we are indian citizens). I am planning to apply for PR and wanted to understand if i should include my kid in the application. I am looking for more generic information around what could be the pros/cons of applying for a PR for my kid who is a US citizen. Want to make sure that we are doing the right thing for him and not messing up with any of the US citizen rights and not causing more harm rather than benefits.

Should we include him now or may be sometime in future. I believe if we apply later it takes quite a few months on get PR. Is that correct?

US and Canada both give dual citizenship so I am thinking getting Canada PR would not hurt for him. The main thing would be when the time comes to take Canadian citizenship and how things look at that time.

Can anyone please check and guide on this? Also if there are anyone who have experienced this process, would appreciate if you can share personal experiences on such kind of situation.
