Hi everyone,

I am a single and living/working in Ontario.
My first cousin (22 years old) is really interested in coming to Canada and I have been looking for ways to be able to sponsor.

CIC has a section for single guy like me to sponsor relatives (including cousin). Reading forum posts seem to suggest otherwise that I won't be able to sponsor my cousin while living in Ontario.

Can you share your expertise?

Thanks

You cannot sponsor your cousin, but you can sponsor your parents if they are alive it means you can sponsor brother sister not cousin if parents are not alive

Under https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ship/other-relatives/who-you-can-sponsor.html it explains the options and limitations. It states that if you meet the conditions of "Option 2", you may be able to sponsor "one relative, related by blood or adoption, of any age". A cousin is a blood relative I believe, albeit distant.
