Hi!

I would like to sponsor my husband for Permanent Residence before we leave for a 3 weeks trip in China ( his country) in the next week or so. He is from currently an international student with a student visa until 2020. I recently enrolled in university online (student loans) and am not working. I will be looking for a job after we come back from our trip.

My question is regarding the situation in which I am a student and currently unemployed ( will be working part-time soon), is it safe to apply right now without that income secured? My husband does have quite some savings and has done very well to sustain himself and our family while we are studying. In the past, I was on minimum salary positions and considered low-income. I do know that there is no income requirement, but I want to make sure that it is safe to apply now.

Thank you so much!

You cannot be collecting social assistance and you must be able to demonstrate you can support the individual.
