I'm currently doing my sponsorship papers for my wife. We have a daughter who was born in Philippines and is with her right now. I already applied for her Certificate of Canadian Citizenship and we're just waiting for her papers. As I was doing my Sponsorship Questionnaire form (IMM 5540) I ran into a few hiccups. Question 15 asked "Do you have any children?" if yes, list your children, including from all previous relationship etc.. And then a follow-up question on 15b ask "if any of your children listed in A do not live with you" etc.? Then on 15c ask "has your spous/common law partner/conjugal partner met your children?

Going back to the first question ( 15 ) I answered YES, since me and my wife have a daughter who is with her in philippines.
and this is what got tricky on question 15b since I'm currently in Canada and my wife in Philippines...I just basically said my daughter is with my wife in philippines and my daughter's certificate of canadian citizenship is being process. then on question 15c i just mark YES.

Am I correct with my answers? It's kinda confusing because the follow-up questions sounds like I have children on previous relationships, which I don't and ask my formal and informal visitation rights.

Anybody can shed a light on this. Thank You

Mike

I was going to ask a similar question....I am about 3 months pregnant and this is the first child for the both of us. What or how do I fill this section out?

As long as your child is not born, you don't include him/her on the papers. He/she doesn't "count" for CIC... you can include a separate paper explaining that you're pregnant ( especially for the medicals because unless you have them already, you won't be able to do the X-ray while pregnant, so you can do part of the medical exams, then include a note saying that you're pregnant (if you're the applicant obviously, not the sponsor), and you will do the rest of the exams as soon as your baby is born.
Good luck ( and congrats on the pregnancy),

Ohhh I remember this question my husband has a dry sense of humor but I love him for it anyways he made fun of his answer LOL anyways he answered yes as we had 2 children wrote their info in... then B) he explained that we took turns with the children no support was paid to either person etc... and C) it asks if your spouse has met your children... she's their mother and that just cracked him up... to this day I don't get why he think's it's so funny but maybe thats just me being "blonde" LOL anyways it worked!
