Sponsor leaving country when appication in Pogress

My spouse is planning to leave Canada (currently working there) and stay with me till the time I get the PR and then both of us would be coming together back. Currently we are waiting for AOR. My question if sponsor is approved and then my spouse comes to me will it affect the application because the next step is my approval so till that time can foreign spouse stay in my home country.

If your sponsor is a Canadian citizen then they don't have to be in Canada to sponsor. They however have to show intention of returning. If the sponsor is permanent resident, then they need to be in Canada while the application is in process.
