Hello :) ,

I have a question with regards to my sponsorship application to my wife. I am a permanent resident, and have a career in Canada while my wife is in Algeria.
We got married last summer 2015 and had to come back to Canada. We have not lived together.

So my online CIC status for the sponsor is In process while the PR status is Decision made. as follows:

Sponsorship:
We received your application to sponsor xxxxx on October 20, 2015.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on December 9, 2015.
We started processing your application on December 8, 2015

Permanent Residence:

We received xxxxxxxxxxx's application for permanent residence on October 20, 2015.
We started processing xxxxx's application on December 18, 2015.
Medical results have been received.

In January 2016, I have received an email from Paris immigration requesting more proves, description of activities after Summer, and a form of list of traveling IMM5562. I sent back an email the same week.

So my question is: My sponsor status is very late while I got a decision made for her PR. Is that possible?
Also am I going to receive a mail, email, or just a status phrase on my profile online? as there is no description to Decision made on line to date.
If i am going to receive a mail, is it coming from Paris or in Canada and how long typically takes?
Is not living together could cause a case refusal?

Thanking you in advance,
Xtos

The fact that ECAS says "in process" still could be meaningless, as it's often behind in updates. That just means someone forgot to update it.

Not living together is fine, many spouses are forced to be separated until they receive their PR.

A couple questions. Did you not receive an SA email? It would have come the same way the document requests and the AOR came, so if those came by email, so would the SA.

What did you put on the form that asks what to do if you are refused as a sponsor? Unless you checked the box for it to continue to the VO, then the application would never have gone there in the first place.

You can just phone the call center in the morning and check that you passed sponsor approval.

I have checked the box for continue to the VO.

I am not sure what is the abbreviations you mentioned :( kindly elaborate :O

fyi, I have sent an email a while ago to CIC asking why my sponsor is late they replied on 2016-03-21 as follows :
Sir, Madam,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. I am pleased to follow up on your request:

Please note that the processing times provided to you on our website are an approximation. Currently, your file is still in process and there is no maximum timeframe to finalize an application.

If further information is needed, the responsible office may contact you.

Well that email wasn't helpful.

AOR = Acknowledgement of Receipt. SA means Sponsor Approval, did you get an email stating her application is being forwarded to her visa office?

First,
I got this email:

UCI: 00000000
Application No.: F0000000
Quote these numbers when corresponding with our office
Dear YYYY,

This confirms that your application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2015/10/20 on behalf of the following member(s):

Second,
was the Paris immigration mentioned above - asking for travel form and extra information for after summer activities

Third,
was corresponding to my sponsor delayed case saying: Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. I am pleased to follow up on your request:
