in Sponsor evaluation for Canadian PR program, 3rd Question ( Your net Personal Income) of Form IMM 5481 ask to Provide "your net personal income for the 12-month period preceding the date of your application"

we Both are Srilankans my Wife ( PR Holder - Lives In Canada) is the Sponsor and I am the Principal Applicant (Srilankan- Lives in Srilanka) . She came to Canada in 2008 January and her Work History is Listed below :

2011 December to 2012 may work as a cashier
2012 May came to Srilanka and until 2012 September Stayed in Srilanka ( waiting for the Re-entry(TRV) approval)
at that time she was called PR interview on 1st week in September and she was unable be in Interview to Canada Since visa was not approved.
Mid of September 2012 TRV Visa was approved and She went and faced the PR interview on October 2012. Got the PR.

it's not a problem that she has not been workign for 1 year. What CIC wants to see is that she has a plan and a way to support you once you arrive in Canada. So explain how much she makes, and how she plans on supporting you when you come. If she is getting free accomodation from family, then get them to write a letter. CIC is concerned that you or your wife will go on welfare, so as long as she can prove that she won't, then it should be OK.
My partner was approved despite being a student, and working only a few months every year.
Good luck,
Sweden
