I've been living in Canada for a year now with my fiancé (she is Canadian and I'm from Sweden). I'm currently here on a OWP through IEC that expires in a year.
We are about to start the process of her sponsoring me to become PR. Our plan is for an outland application while I reside in Canada and hopefully it will be done within a year so I don't have to quit my job when my OWP expires.
We will apply as common-law partners since we've been living together for a year.
However I'm a little confused about which packet to use.
1) If your spouse or partner lives with you in Canada, use the Application for Permanent Residence in Canada—Spouse or Common-Law Partner. Note: if a child of your spouse or partner is also living with you in Canada, they may be included on the application if they meet the definition of dependent child.
OR,
2) If your spouse, partner or dependent child lives outside Canada, use the Application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class.
My best guess is we should use package 1), send it to Mississauga as an Outland application? I just want this verified before starting the process. My IEC application was processed in London and I assume that's where the sponsorship application will be processed as well?
