And the officer also told us the processing time is terribly long because of graduates are applying for their PGWPs in summer...

Not yet... It takes terribly long.
And have you got any updates?

Thanks for keeping us posted with the news, let's keep in touch! Hopefully, soon we get replies :)
No updates but I saw someone applied on June 4th got approved.

Also you should be good with your VR expires on Oct whatever date it is (I forgot)....

Also, I saw someone applied in August and already got approval. So weird ...

Yeah, I was confused about implied status but seems that even if I get no reply before mid-October I can stay in Canada on implied status. However, I hope to get a reply before that time (at least the processing time suggests so)!

Hello everyone,

I have applied inland (from Canada) online for a Spouse Open Work Permit on June 10th, 2019 with upfront medical exams based on my husband's post-graduate work permit. A few months earlier I got my visitor visa extension (in the letter of explanation I expressed my motivation in applying for a SOWP). I used my medical exams from the visa extension application that were done less than 1 year ago. So far I received no messages apart from the submission confirmation and my application status has never changed (review of eligibility in progress).

More than 10 weeks have already passed and I start getting worried because on the CIC website the estimated processing time for a work permit is only 8 weeks.

Anyone applied at this time and got a reply or still waiting for it? Any thoughts why it takes so long?

Thanks in advance!
Hello, I also in same kind of situation. Actually, my wife got student visa for January,2020 intake. So, should I apply for visitor visa or apply for sowp after her lending in Canada? My sister is Canadian citizen. So she can provide me invitation letter for trv. But, how much chances of visa approval of sowp applied inside canada. Please guide me. Thank you in advance.

I know... According to the recent update they are working on the applications from May 27th. That means that very soon we should get a reply.

Let us know when you receive any answer.

Hope you will get your approval next week. The update on CIC is apparently one week late. Fingers crossed for ya!
