My manthra to stay calm with all these delays, think about the refugees who've applied to come to Canada.
We are applying to be with our better half, have a slightly more wholesome life. They are applying to escape the very existential threat to their life from war and famine.

I think we should wait out a little more, go with CSE if we don't hear back after 10-11 weeks. My gut feeling is, this delay is because, from November onwards CIC has been inviting quite a lot of people to apply for express entry. The numbers went from 600-700 a month to nearly 4000 this month. And even though its different from wp or sowp applications, all are processed by the same set of employees at the visa offices. Hence this delay.

I applied for my wife's open work permit on February 11, 2017.
Medicals Passed on February 15, 2017.
No update after that.

Hi,
I applied with upfront medicals to save time.
But I don't think that is making any difference in processing.
I applied on my own and online from Canada

No it makes lots of difference.
Your medicals are already passed .
It's a positive sign.
And you just applied very recently brace yourself.
You will get good news very soon

Even I got excited thinking that finally my file has been opened and its being processed.
But, it was just a change of words by CIC.

i just called cic
phone number +16139444000.
you can talk to agent from monday to frinday 8am-4pm.

i got message from auto recording that if you submitted your application after october 29 2016 they are not yet processed.
i didnt speak to any agent because i didnt call on the right .
i am going to call tonight and speak to the agent and i will update you guys.

This is a big blow to all the aspirants.
How can they do this?
And their answer seems to be impossible as there are people in the forum who applied in Nov and got visa recently on March 7 and around.
