One option is to apply for her SOWP. Students have the option to apply for their Spouse's Open work permit while they are still studying in Canada.

I have applied for sopw on 13 feb without medicals.
My file is processing at chandigarh visa office .
Its already been 3 months without any update.
I also sent enquiry mail to chandigarh visa office yesterday but they did not reply .
I am very worried.
Please help .

Thanks for your reply, my only concern is that my isn't working here in India, does that effect her owp in Canada?
Though I am a full time student

CIC has requested for My medical.
I will submit it on 27th may 2016.
I wanted to know how much will it take after submission if medical to know the result.

First of all i would like to thank each one of you for doing such a nice job by sharing your experiences and opinions here. I have been a regular reader of this and other forums on this website. Just sharing my story in brief:

I am on a post grad work permit in Ontario, canada since May 2014 and is valid until next year May.

My wife is in India currently and below is the timeline synopsis for her SOWP:

Applied online : october 2015, refused in September 2015
Re-applied : December 2015, refused in Feb 2015
Visitor visa filed in March 2016(filed against my wish : refused in 3 weeks

With a frustrated but a bit more researched mind: Applied paper based application using an attorney at VFS Delhi on 19th april

Medical Requested : 5th May
medical Done : 7th may

on the link it says UNDER PROGRESS

Any idea what is the recent timeline after the Medical exam ?

what's your NOC code for the job you working on write now ? It should be NOC O A OR B. !

What we're the reasons before !!

it is NOC B - first refusal : financial assests and spouse does not meets NOC.
Thereafter, i submitted a detailed employment letter with the NOC code and duties and responsibilities.
2nd refusal was : not enough proofs of relationship.

This time, i submitted more than enough proofs and documents making it a very heavy pile up

The medical exam was done on 7th may at ludhiana, punjab and they said that it will be submitted in like 3-4 days.

Since then, waiting for a response from CIC.

All the best buddy. I realized that my application was not filed properly the first 2 times. I attached the same documents that you mentioned. Did you do the upfront medical?

Nope my wife will do it after request. .I believe we should get it around 5th june .. all the best to you too !

i have got CSQ( from quebec its a same as PNP.)
I am working in NOC B job .and my wife is in india .i wanna apply for her visa .do i need to show proof of funds in her account in india?
or can i get afidavite of support from her dad in india and put her father bank statement and land and house valuation report including affidavite of support from her dad and i show 10000$ in canadian bank , is that gonna work?

and its good to attach PNP latter or not?

please suggest me guys i am confused...
